Mrs. Elana Weiss
Mrs. Elana Weiss has taught math for over 10 years across many different grade levels. She tutors Algebra and Geometry extensively for the New York State Regent Exams. Her broad math background shapes the content of her lessons to fit the bigger picture of how her students will use math across other disciplines in school and in real life. Mrs. Weiss incorporates a variety of methodologies into her classroom including inquiry based learning, technology, and collaboration between her students to make the lessons meaningful and engaging.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Weiss was a Wayne State University National Merit Scholar and then completed her B.A. in Mathematics at Rutgers University. She worked in the Real Estate field before going back into the classroom as a teacher. Once she found her passion in math education, she completed a Masters in Secondary Math Education at SUNY and received a New York State Secondary Math Teaching Certification. Mrs. Weiss lives in Monsey with her family.
