Ms. Elana Kook

Ms. Elana Kook

English Department Chair

Ms. Elana Kook aims to educate and empower students to be independent learners by developing their skills and learning strategies. She also hopes to instill and cultivate a life-long love of reading and writing within her students. Ms. Kook earned her BA from Yeshiva University with summa cum laude honors where she majored in English literature, completed a minor in history, and served as editor-in-chief of the newspaper. Ms. Kook received her MA in adolescent literacy from Fordham University, where she also completed her NY State professional teaching certification. As a member of Teach For America, Ms. Kook taught middle school English language arts in a New York City public school. She taught English at Yeshiva University High School for Girls, and most recently at Torah Academy of Bergen County. Ms. Kook currently lives in Riverdale with her family.
