
Rabbi Andrew Markowitz
Rabbi Andrew Markowitz learned at Yeshivat Reishit Yerushalayim, and then continued to Yeshiva University. He graduated with a BA in Psychology and semicha from REITS during which time he was a fellow of the Gruss Kollel in Jerusalem. While in Israel, he trained closely with Rav Gideon Weitzman of Machon Puah where he received an additional semicha with a focus on the field of fertility and Halacha. Upon finishing his semicha, he was accepted to Yeshiva University’s prestigious Beren Kollel Elyon.
Rabbi Markowitz is the Rabbi of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Rabbi Markowitz and his family have made Shomrei Torah their home since he began as the assistant rabbi in 2010. Rabbi Markowitz has taught in Bruriah High School for Girls where he worked closely with the administration and guidance department to create engaging programming for his students. He presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America and as a member of the Kashrus Committee for the Rabbinical Council of Bergen County.
